Description
The 100m deep V-shaped dry chalk valley Devil's Dyke is the deepest dry valley in the country. Folklore has it that the dyke was the work of the Devil, and that it was dug so the sea would flood its inhabitants whose kingdom were the last to convert to Christianity, infuriating the Devil. The 2 humps known as 'The Devil's Graves' is the alleged burial site of the Devil.
