Description
Whilst the Harry Potter books don't reference many real-world locations, the films from the fantasy series have used many locations from in and around Britain (and a couple in Ireland). In the West Scottish Highlands you'll find many locations, including lochs that were used, locations that featured the Hogwarts Express including Glenfinnan Viaduct (a.k.a. the 'bridge to Hogwarts'), and the magical locations of the western entrance to Glen Coe where Hagrid's Hut, the Pumpkin Patch, the Wooden Bridge (a.k.a. Covered Bridge), and Sundial Garden were set. In Yorkshire (England), Malham Cove's limestone tops featured as the setting where Harry and Hermione camped out whilst searching for Horcruxes. There are also a number of film locations in London, including King's Cross railway station (with Platform 9 3/4), Diagon Alley (Leadenhall Market), Gringotts Bank (Australia House interior), and London Zoo's Reptile House. It's popular to do a Harry Potter walking tour of London to visit these ones.
