Description
Great Glen is a valley stretching in a mostly straight 100km line across Scotland from Inverness southwest to Fort William, following a geological fault and connected by a series of rivers and lochs, including Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness, and has the Grampian Mountains to the east side. The natural route is used by both the Caledonian Canal and the A82 road.

General safety information
By Water: The lochs are classed as open water by the Coastguard, Loch Ness especially can become very dangerous in poor weather - stay updated on the weather forecast. On canals stick to the right, on the lochs choose a shore to stick to. It's important to read all safety information provided by the Caledonian Canal Team, and official websites.
