Description
Also known as the Western Isles, the Outer Hebrides is an island chain of 15 inhabited islands in the Atlantic off the west coast of mainland Scotland. The islands are linked by bridges, ferry crossings and causeways, and the roads are narrow and mainly single track. It offers a unique landscape of lochs, beaches and sand dunes. It's worth noting the prevailing wind is south westerly, so in most cases it's recommended to tackle the trail south to north.
