Some underlying data of content components ("Component") of Wayfarus are made to be used freely. Our license for them reflects that.

What is not permitted
- Compiling Components from Wayfarus to replicate a similar or competing service.
Longform
Wayfarus grants you an irrevocable, nonexclusive, worldwide copyright license to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use specified Components from Wayfarus for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from but by linking attribution to Wayfarus (and indicating if changes were made). This license does not include the right to compile Components from Wayfarus to replicate a similar or competing service.The Wayfarus License is in the same spirit as the CC BY-SA 4.0 License — the difference being that the Wayfarus License does not include the right to compile these Components from Wayfarus to replicate a similar or competing service.
To summarise, the Wayfarus License and the CC BY-SA 4.0 License:
- Are both sublicensable and non-revocable
- Both allow users to use these Components for free, for personal and commercial purposes
- Require linked attribution (like so: Component info by Wayfarus.app contributors)
Therefore, unless you're attempting to create a similar or competing site to Wayfarus using Wayfarus Components, this change in License should not affect your use of Wayfarus Components.
